Migraine is a neurological problem which is characterized by chronic headaches, often accompanied by nausea and sensory changes. Most migraine experts believe that many migraine headaches are triggered by a range of different environmental events including food and beverages, weather, and other factors. Research suggests that migraine triggers vary from person to person. Generally migraine headaches are very painful, one sided and may last from 4-72 hrs. Most common migraine symptoms include increased sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting. More than half of migraine sufferers perceive an aura-unusual visual, aromatic or any other type of sensory experience which usually arises before the headache begins.

According to scientific literature there are 4 main categories of migraine studies that follow different process for identifying the migraine trigger. They are as mentioned:

Challenge studies- here, migraine sufferer are deliberately exposed to factors that can act as potential triggers, to see whether the pain occurs or not. Researchers using this highly experimental approach have found very strong evidence for cause-and-effect linkages between triggers and headaches.

However, several experiments using the challenge approach have failed to confirm findings about triggers, most of these studies did not focus specifically on individuals reporting a special susceptibility to the trigger under investigation.

Treatment studies- according to this branch of study, the migraine sufferers are requested to avoid any contact with a particular set of migraine triggers (especially suspect food items) for a period of time, to see if this reduces the rate/frequency of headaches. This gradually helps in identifying the triggers, which if avoided leads to no headache.

‘Treatment studies’ are generally considered to be a mixed bag as some studies report beneficial effects of diet control which eliminates large numbers of foods, whereas other studies say there are no benefits. In general, it is hard to get many people to comply faithfully with food regiments in which many of their favorite foods are “off limits”. For this reason, the treatment study approach has not yielded either a generally effective therapy or robust research results.

In diary studies, patients are asked to maintain a record of the headaches and what were the factors they got exposed to that are on a list of suspected triggers. Some studies have used statistical analysis to examine whether there is a strong cause-and-effect relationship between trigger exposure and later headaches.

Survey studies- in survey studies, patients are asked to give their opinions about what they think and have observed cause their headaches.

In 1995, Silberstein and his colleagues conducted a survey of 500 migraine sufferers and found the following percentages believe their headaches were prompted by various categories of triggers like:

Stress

79.0%

Changes in Weather

44.0%

Before Menstruation

37.2%

Changes in Light

33.8%

Eating certain Foods

30.0%

During Menstruation

26.8%

Fatigue/insomnia/other

6.6%

Other Events (combined)

13.2%

These are some of the methods for identifying the triggers a person might be having before migraine headache and which causes them pain. The results of these studies together make it clear that migraine triggering is a reality. However, the heterogeneity of results strongly suggests that different individuals have different migraine triggers. Thus, to avoid headaches migraine sufferers cannot merely avoid items from common lists of triggers; instead, they will obtain more effective prevention if they determine what is causing their headaches in particular.

Genital warts are a type of wart that are only found on your private parts of the body. The genital wart is one that will be easily recognized. Genital warts are also known as veneral warts and also as condylmata acuminata. Warts in this manner are caused by a skin infection, which is known as PHV infection. It is possible to have the HPV infection without having genital warts. Genital warts are often passed along during sexual intercourse, but not all those who have genital warts are going to know they are infected until the warts are bigger and a little more painful.

Warts are a virus, that can be passed by touching, sitting and skin to skin contact. The most common types of warts are seen on people’s hands and feet, which are a different form of a wart but are generally the same thing if you are wondering what genital warts really are.

Warts are associated with the tumors that form under and in the skin. The tumors are forms of the HPV infection, and will form warts as the body rids the infection from the body. If you have warts on the hand or on the feet, you are not going to spread this to your genitals. If you know someone who has genital warts, they are not going to give you warts on your hands and the same goes the other way around.

For the woman, if you have genital warts, they will appear on the inside and the outside of the vagina. If the woman has anal sex, the genital warts could appear an the anus, and the same is for the man. If a man is having anal sex with another, the genital warts could appear on the anus area as well.

The warts will appear in the same area, taking a long time to spread out. Sometimes the warts will disappear on their own, but only in rare cases often times the genital warts will spread becoming crusty and become large areas of warts over the private areas of a male or female. If you have genital warts, and someone performs oral sex, the genital warts can be transmitted to that person. Genital warts can be treated by a doctor, and with medications. If not treated, often times genital warts can become troublesome not only for the person suffering with them, but for people you love and want to share that special relationship with.

If you have sex with someone that you later finds out has genital warts, you most likely are going to end up with genital warts are well. It can take any where from one month to three months for genital warts to appear and become large enough for a person to notice them. Always protect yourself by avoiding having sex with anyone you don’t know or trust not to have genital warts.

Depression is a complex of psychological and physical symptoms. Low mood level or sadness is often the most prominent symptom. The common property of these symptoms is a decreased activity level in parts of the brain.

THE SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION

Depression may give one or more of these symptoms:

-Low mood level or sadness.

-Lack of joy or interest in activities that were joyful before.

-Pessimism.

-Feel of guilt of something without any substantial reason to feel so.

-Inferiority thoughts.

-Irritability.

-Slowness in the thought process.

-Slowness in interpreting sensorial stimuli.

-Slowness of digestion or other internal physical processes, and symptoms caused by this slowness, for example inflated stomach, constipation or difficulties by urination.

-Slow physical reactions.

Depression can be a mild disease that only causes some annoyance in the daily life, but can also get very serious and make a person totally unable to work and unable to participate in social life. By depression of some severity, there is also a greater risk of suicide.

Depression can occur in all age classes. In teenager’s lack of interest in school work, withdrawal from social life and difficult mood can be signs of depression.

THE PHYSIOLOGICAL CHANGES THAT PRODUCE THE SYMPTOMS

By depression there is a decreased amount of neurotransmitters in parts of the central nervous system, mainly deficiency of serotonin, but also to some extend of noradrenalin, acetylcholine, dopamine or gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA), or the nerve cells do not react properly by stimulation from neurotransmitters. A neurotransmitter is a signal substance that transmits the nerve signal through the junctions between two nerve cells.

Serotonin and noradrenalin cause nerve cells to send impulses along to other nerve cells, and thus increase the activity in the brain. Deficiency of these substances causes slowness in parts of the brain, and that again causes the depressive symptoms.

The role of GABA is the opposite, namely to slow down some nerve impulses, mainly those causing anxiety and panic response. Lack of GABA causes higher anxiety and easier panic response. Yet, lack of this transmitter also seems to cause depressive symptoms. This is because a too high activity in some brain processes may slow down other processes.

There are many causes and subtypes of depression with different physiological mechanisms involved.

TYPES OF DEPRESSION

Depression is often divided into subtypes according to exhibited symptoms.

1. Mono-polar depression and dysthymic disorder

By mono-polar depression there are pure depressive symptoms. Mild cases of mono-polar disorder that do not affect a person’s ability to work and to participate in social activities are often called dysthymic disorder.

2. Bipolar disorder (manic-depressive disease) and cyclothymic disorder

In this condition there are periods with symptoms of depression – the depressive phase, alternating with periods of elevated mood level with increased mental and physical activity – the manic phase. In the manic phase, the affected person also sleeps poorly and has concentration difficulties. A mild form of this disease is called cyclothymic disorder.

3. Manic disorder

This condition is characterized by abnormally elevated mood, by unrealistic optimism, by lack of sleep and by hyperactive behaviour. Many psychiatrists think that this disorder is simply the same disease as bipolar disorder where the depressive face has not yet occurred.

4. Depression with mainly physical symptoms

Sometimes the physical symptoms of depression are alone or dominant, as for example: Digestive problems, constipation, difficulties with urination, slow response to sensorial stimuli or slow physical reactions.

CAUSES OF DEPRESSION

Two or more factors can have an effect simultaneously to cause depression. Depression can be an independent disease, or a part of other disease. Depression is also divided into different subtypes according to cause.

1. Reactive depression

This disease is simply a result from psychological stress, physical struggle or mental straining without proper rest or sleep over a long time period. The straining will simply wear out the nervous system or deplete the organism from nutrient necessary for the nervous system to work properly.

2. Endogenous depression

When there has not been any period of stress, straining or lack of rest that can explain the condition, the condition is often called endogenous depression. Inheritance is thought to be a part of the cause.

3. Depression by physical disease

Depression or depressive symptoms may be a symptom of physical disease. This is perhaps the most common cause of depression.

Diseases often associated with depression are: Heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, hypertension or Cushing’s syndrome.

Mononucleosis or flu may trigger depression that continues after the infection has gone.

By lack of thyroid hormones, hypothyroidism, the metabolism in the whole body is slowed down, including the production of neurotransmitters in the brain. Therefore depression is an important symptom of hypothyroidism.

4. Depressive symptoms as a consequence of unsound lifestyle

A general unsound lifestyle with too less exercise, too high consunsume of alcohol, coffee or tea, too less of important nutrient and too much of sugar and fat may give depressive symptoms, as well as physical problems.

5. Postnatal depression

Women will often have a period of depression after pregnancy and birth of the baby Pregnancy and berth is physically and mentally exhausting, and may drain the body for nutrient. This in turn can cause depressive symptoms

.

6. Seasonal affective disorder

Depression can occur in cold and dark periods of the year and go away in warm and light periods. Light stimulates brain activity, and lack of light is a causative factor.

TREATMENT OF DEPRESSION

Serious or prolonged depression is often treated with anti-depressive medication. Medicines used against depression generally increase the level of neurotransmitters like serotonin in the central nervous system, or they mimic the neurotransmitters.

The medications mostly used today increase the serotonin concentration by decreasing the removal of serotonin from the space around nerve cells. Examples of this medication type are: Fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), paroxetine (Paxil), escitalopram (Lexapro, Celexa), sentraline (zoloft).

By bipolar disorder in the manic face, heavy tranquilizers (neuroleptica) are used to stop the manic symptoms. By bipolar disorder, lithium salts are sometimes used to stabilize the condition, and prevent new outbreak of depressive or manic faces.

Psychotherapy is sometimes used by depression, usually in combination with medication.

Sometimes serious depression is treated by applying electric shock through the head, electroconvulsive therapy. The shock induces epileptic eruption of nerve signals through the brain and this gives cramps throughout the body. The cramps are alleviated or stopped by applying anaesthesia before the electroshock. This form of treatment is controversial, since it can cause memory loss and is suspected of causing brain damage. The possibility of brain damage is however denied by most psychiatrists.

By seasonal depression, light therapy maybe useful.

Adjustment of lifestyle should always be considered by depression or depressive symptoms. Lifestyle measures can sometimes be enough to cure depressive symptoms before a serious depression develop. Lifestyle adjustments can be:

- To slow down a stressful life with too much work or activities.

- Enough rest and sleep.

- A good diet with enough of necessary nutrients.

- Some physical exercise.

- Meditation.

- Supplement of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, lecithin, amino acids and essential fatty acids.

- Stimulants like coffee or tea may help against depressive feelings in moderate amount. However, if you are a heavy user of these stimulants, you should cut down on your consumption.

There exist nutritional products in the marked to help against depressive symptoms. These contain ingredients that the brain uses as building blocks for neurotransmitters, for example amino acids and lecithin. They also often contain vitamins and minerals that the brain uses as tools to produce neurotransmitters, especially vitamin B6.

Supplements may further contain herbal extracts that trigger higher brain activity much like anti-depressive medications, but may have fewer side effects.

When diagnosed with cancer, it is a difficult time in anyone’s life. However, the diagnosis is made even more difficult with the generally harsh conventional treatments such as chemotherapy. In many cases, cancer patients tend to combine natural cancer treatment with the conventional treatments they are currently receiving. In other cases, they may not be able to continue using these conventional methods because they may seem pointless. This is especially true for those affected with an advanced cancer stage.

For many people and this has been documented in a variety of research and medical outlets, natural cancer treatment is the best option. It is far less harsh, has fewer side effects, and in most cases, helps in eliminating other factors that may be aggravating the cancer or even causing it. The idea behind natural cancer treatment is that the body has the ability to kill and fight off cancer.

However, in order to do this, it must be healthy and running at full speed. With natural cancer treatment combined with other elements such as improved diet and lifestyle changes, it is the belief in the alternative medical world that the body does have the ability to essentially heal itself. With natural treatment, you often take care of underlying problems, which may be the cause of the cancer.

By taking care of this problem, the body is more able to focus on the cancer than the other issues. The bad thing about conventional cancer treatments is that they tend to carry numerous side effects. For example, with traditional chemotherapy and even the chemotherapy pills, there are a great deal of side effects, which may include:
* Fluid Retention
* Nausea
* Vomiting
* Fatigue
* Loss of Hair
* Increased Risk of Infection
* Pain
* Constipation
* Diarrhea
* Skin Troubles
* Bladder Troubles
* Kidney Troubles

With all of these side effects, it is no wonder that people are turning to natural cancer treatment. In many cases, cancer patients will combine natural treatment methods with their conventional methods to attempt to alleviate some of the side effects.

What is more, even though chemotherapy is an FDA approved cancer treatment, it does not always work in eliminating the cancer. If it does work, there is always the chance that it may return. The same chances exist with natural methods as well, without the massive list of side effects that seems to go on and on. Most alternative methods are the result of years and years of study, research, and evidence.

Though doctors and government officials refuse to acknowledge these methods of treatment, it does not mean that they will not work in fighting cancer. Alternative means you are given another option in your treatment choices, the options and ultimate decisions rest within your hands.

Chemotherapy, in its most general sense, refers to treatment of disease by chemicals that kill cells, specifically those of micro-organisms or cancer. Chemotherapy works by destroying cancer cells; unfortunately, it cannot tell the difference between a cancer cell and some healthy cells.

Chemotherapy may be given in many ways. It can be administered through a vein, injected into a body cavity, or delivered orally in the form of a pill, depending on which drug is used. Chemotherapy is sometimes used along with other cancer treatments, such as radiation therapy, surgery, or biological therapy (the use of substances to boost the body’s immune system while fighting cancer).

Chemotherapy was formed from mustard gases, which was in use as chemical- arms during the 1st World-War. Chemotherapy for the treatment of cancer began in the 1940s with the use of nitrogen mustard.

When cancer treatment includes chemotherapy, patients have many questions. More than half of all people diagnosed with cancer receive chemotherapy. Chemo works by destroying cancer cells; unfortunately, it cannot tell the difference between a cancer cell and some healthy cells. So chemotherapy eliminates not only the fast-growing cancer cells but also other fast-growing cells in your body, including, hair and blood cells.

One of the most destructive things about chemo is how it weakens the immune system. The immune system is the body’s only defense against disease. Since chemo has a detrimental effect on the immune may chemo patients contract other diseases not associated with cancer like pneumonia, bowel diseases, allergies and may create many immunodeficiency disorders.

Your course of therapy will depend on the cancer type, the chemotherapy drugs used, the treatment goal and how your body responds. Adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy are often given following surgery for many types of cancer, including colon cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and some gynaecological cancers. Over time, cancer cells become more resistant to chemotherapy treatments.

Patients who are better prepared tend to have fewer side effects and a higher emotional ability to handle the chemotherapy treatments. Patients receiving chemotherapy are more likely to get infections. Under certain circumstances, your doctor may decide your body is too weak to receive chemotherapy. You may have breaks between treatments so that your body has a chance to build new healthy cells.

The side effects of chemotherapy come about because cancer cells aren’t the only rapidly dividing cells in your body. Radiation therapy directs high-energy X-rays at a person’s body to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Radiation therapy also attacks quickly growing cells in your body, but unlike chemotherapy, it affects only the specific area where treatment is concentrated. Biological therapy, also called immunotherapy, consists of treatment with substances that boost the body’s own immune system against cancer.

Receiving chemo during childhood also may place some kids at risk for delayed growth and cognitive development, depending on the child’s age, the type of drug used, the dosage, and whether chemotherapy was used in addition to radiation therapy. People who receive radiation therapy before having chemotherapy may notice that involved skin may turn red, blister, and peel once chemo begins. When a cancer has been removed by surgery or treated with radiation therapy, chemotherapy may be used to keep the cancer from coming back (adjuvant therapy).

Given after surgery or radiation, the goal of adjuvant therapy is to eliminate any cancer cells that might linger in your body after earlier treatments. The combination of radiation and chemotherapy can further increase your risk of heart damage.

Chemotherapy is usually administered for approximately 6-12 months or until a patient achieves a plateau response or stable disease, especially if the therapy is well tolerated. Chemotherapy can be frightening to think about. It may cause short term (acute), long term (chronic), and permanent side effects, some of which may be severe.

Chemotherapy can have many unpleasant side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, hair loss, mouth sores, Anemia (decreased numbers of red blood cells; may cause fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath) Leukopenia (decreased numbers of white blood cells; may lower resistance to infection), Thrombocytopenia (decreased numbers of platelets; may lead to easy bleeding or bruising), gastrointestinal symptoms, and even heart disease.

There are other options to chemotherapy that are successful in treating cancer but perhaps more important, there are steps we can take to prevent cancer and to avoid the horrible effects of chemo and radiation.

Acid reflux is a medical condition that affects people of all ages. Acid reflux happens when the stomach produces acid to digest food and that acid regurgitates into the esophagus. Heartburn is the most common symptom of acid reflux. Heartburn is typically uncomfortable, but can be very painful as well. No cure has been found for acid reflux, but the symptoms can be controlled with a good acid reflux diet.

The following is a short list of foods that are high risk for causing acid reflux symptoms. These foods may bother some people with acid reflux and not others because everybody’s system is different. These foods are common foods that are avoided in an acid reflux diet.

Fatty meats
Dairy foods high in fat
Coffee and tea (both caffeinated and decaf)
Alcohol (beer is especially bad)
Most citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables
French fried and mashed potatoes

Reducing these high risk foods in your acid reflux diet can potentially reduce acid reflux symptoms.

Some low risk foods that should be included in your acid reflux diet are:

Extra lean beef
Lean chicken or turkey breasts
Fish
Breads and grains
Low citrus fruits such as bananas and apples
Green vegetables, carrots and cabbage
Low or non-fat dairy foods

This is certainly not a complete list of foods considered safe for an acid reflux diet. It is a general compilation that should be enough to get your first menu planned. Even though these are considered low risk for causing acid reflux symptoms, some people may be sensitive to certain foods and have problems from them regardless of which list they are on.

Overeating can cause symptoms of acid reflux. This happens because when you overeat your stomach has to produce more acid in order to digest the extra food. When there is more acid in the stomach, there can be more symptoms as a result. The best acid reflux diet consists of three small meals per day and two healthy snacks to prevent overeating.

Keeping a diary of the foods you eat and when you have symptoms for at least two weeks. Once you have determined which foods are causing your symptoms you can eliminate them from your acid reflux diet.

Acid reflux symptoms can be especially problematic for babies and older adults. Bleeding ulcers, difficulty breathing, gagging, and the feeling of choking are other symptoms of acid reflux. A baby with acid reflux can experience coughing and vomiting. Babies are unable to express their symptoms and they should be discussed with a pediatrician. Older adults should chew and eat slowly to avoid choking and regurgitation from acid reflux.

Acid reflux disease should be taken seriously as it can be dangerous. Some treatments for acid reflux include antacid tablets, foam tablets, and exercise. Surgery is a last resort acid reflux treatment when other treatments fail. A lifestyle change, including the implementation of a good acid reflux diet, is a step in the right direction toward fighting acid reflux.

Acid reflux is the common term for gastro esophageal reflux disease or GERD, the condition of abnormal reflux that causes mucosal damages. This disease can affect both adults and children or infants, but gives high vulnerability to pregnant women, smokers and people who doze off right after eating without prior rest.

The symptoms of acid reflux are as follows: heartburn, which is characterized by chest pain; inflammation in the mucosa; difficulty in swallowing; cough and hoarseness. These symptoms are felt by the infected person after eating a fatty meal or drinking liquor, when bending, and worse when constantly smoking.

Acid reflux is primarily caused by the malfunction of the esophageal sphincter. In other cases, it can also be brought about by the abnormal production of the gastric acids. If there is insufficient supply of the stomach acid, the valve in the stomach responsible for churning up foods to the intestine does not open up. This irritates the esophagus and leads to inflammation.

Some of the factors that can trigger acid reflux are hiatus hernia, zollinger-elison syndrome, hypercalcemia, scleroderma and systemic sclerosis.

According to paradoxical beliefs, drinking alcohol, tea and coffee can lead to gastro esophageal reflux. But recent studies show that although individuals already infected by this disease can be aggravated by alcohol, tea and coffee, these elements do not cause the disease. Compared to smoking which amplifies the risks of getting the disease, alcohol, tea and coffee had the least impact. But this doesn’t mean that GERD infected people are free to take the beverages stated above. Doctors still suggest avoiding drinking of alcohol in order to shun further aggravation.

Smoking is the chief culprit that causes acid reflux disease. Regular smokers for twenty years are 70% susceptible to acid reflux disease compared to non-smokers. And symptoms of those who already developed the GERD are worsened day by day due to smoking.

The highlight of the research is that great amounts of salts are found to be equivalent to regular smoking in terms of the risk of developing GERD. It is not a common knowledge that table salts can cause acid reflux disease but researchers found out in their studies that people who are constantly using extra salt are 70% at risk to have gastro esophageal reflux disease. Gastroenterologists of New York University Medical Center attested this fact.

Gastro esophageal reflux disease can be diagnosed even by the infected person himself through the appearance of the symptoms. In the occurrence of these symptoms, it is advised to undergo the tests conducted by medical experts to clear doubts of having the disease or to carry out possible treatments. To treat this kind of disorder, there are varieties of ways possible. It can be cured by prescribed drugs such as antacids, by natural way such as change of diet system, elevation of the head when lying down, or to the utmost is surgery. And of course, it will be best to stop or avoid smoking and drinking alcohol especially to people who are vulnerable to acid reflux disease.

Gastro esophageal reflux disease causes a lot of discomfort that it can ruin even your lifestyle. To avoid its bad effects, precautionary measures should be considered. The cliché quote that prevention is better than cure applies always.

One of the most important tips you can receive if you are dealing with constipation is to not avoid eating breakfast. The bowels can go to sleep at night. Eating a meal for breakfast and consuming a hot beverage can wake up your bowels. If you are dealing with constipation and you lead a very busy life in the morning, you should work to rearrange your schedule so you can retrain your bowels. Allow yourself time to eat. Once your bowels have been retrained you should expect to have a bowel movement about a half hour after breakfast.

Another important constipation tip is learning how to sit on the toilet so your bowels can open properly. Placing a stool under your feet when you are sitting on the toilet can help your body assume the squatting position that is necessary for proper elimination. Once you have positioned your feet on the stool, relax, lean forward and place your elbows on your thighs.

When you are sitting on the toilet, it is important that you do not hold your breath when you are trying to eliminate a stool. A good constipation tip is to breathe in your nose and out through your mouth. Holding your breath while you are trying to pass a stool can actually hamper the elimination process because it closes up the bottom.

Another constipation tip for those who are prone to straining is to learn how to push without actually straining. When you have placed your feet on the stool, simply lean forward and breathe normally. This will enable your stomach muscles to push the stool out without straining. Essentially, you are pushing from your waist.

If you are dealing with constipation you should increase your dietary fiber and consume an adequate amount of water. Eat green leafy vegetables and fruits. Munching on dried fruits throughout the day can also help to relieve constipation. Drinking a glass of water the first thing in the morning can also help to regulate the bowels. Try to eat at the same time each day so you can get your system on a regular schedule.

You should always respond to any sign that your bowels want to move. Delaying or putting off a bowel movement can aggravate constipation. No matter where you are, if you feel like your bowels want to move, find a bathroom.

You should also try to become more active. Taking a small walk every day can go far in helping your constipation. You do not have to join a gym or take up an expensive exercise. Simply taking a walk in the evening after supper will suffice.

Another constipation tip is to cleanse and detoxify the body. Oxy-Powder is an all natural product that can clean out your pipes and keep you regular. It works by oxidizing the mucous, sludge and fecal matter that has built up in your system. Not only does Oxy-Powder work to clean out your system, but it sets up a welcome environment for the good bacteria that is needed to keep your digestive system healthy. Oxy-Powder is recommended for someone who wants to rid their life of constipation once and for all.

If you are prone to constipation, you should avoid food that are fried, fatty, spicy and are full of preservatives. These foods are very hard to digest and put a strain on your body’s digestive enzymes. If you think your system is depleted of enzymes you can supplement your dies with enzymes.

Watch the type of medication you take. Many medications (both prescription and non-prescription) can aggravate or cause constipation. Take with a pharmacist about any medications you are given to see if it can cause constipation.

Try to avoid stimulant laxatives. Many of these can actually make constipation worse because they can make the bowels lazy. While they may provide temporary relief, it is just not worth the potential problems. If you need to have your system cleaned out, use a product like Oxy-Powder that we referenced above. Oxy-Powder cleanses the colon and helps you to maintain regular bowel movements.

The last constipation tip is to not assume that constipation is simply a fact of life – because it does not have to be. Whether you are young or old, you can take the steps needed to become regular. Don’t let constipation dictate your lifestyle to you. With a little time and attention, you can kick constipation to the curb for good.

You find yourself having bowel movement problems when you notice unusual signs with your stools. Yet, you find it hard to discuss them over with others due to feelings of embarrassment. You prefer to keep them a secret and suffer in silence.

Should you experience a continued inability to digest food properly with efficiency and ease, the quality of your life worsens. Your symptoms can be so debilitating that they affect how you live. When digestion becomes compromised because of an unhealthy diet, infection or parasites, it can be difficult to function normally when you are in constant abdominal pain, severe discomfort, and total inconvenience.

Bowel movement problems can be revealing of how well your digestive system is functioning. There are three factors that can be used to indicate if you are having healthy stools or not: color, consistency, and frequency.

Color. The color of stool can be indicative of bowel movement problems. The following colors depict much about your digestive and dietary habits:

Pale – Pale stool can be caused by some medications. If you have not been consuming medications, it can be indicative of a lack of bile. Low bile production can be caused by a blockage of the bile duct, resulting in bowel movement problems.

Green – If you have not been consuming a great deal of green leafy vegetables or some other highly colored green food, greenness can be indicative that stools are passing through your body too quickly. The color is produced when bile is not given sufficient time to break down. This is often the case with diarrhea.

Yellow – This color generally indicates an excess of fat in the stool, possibly indicating absorption problems.

Bright Red – Highly colored food additives and coloring can result in bright red stool. It can also be produced by lower intestinal bleeding.

Black – Black stools can be produced by some foods and supplements. It can also indicate bleeding in the upper digestive tract.

Consistency. Pencil thin, narrow stools can indicate a blockage. Stools that sink quickly to the bottom of the toilet can be a sign of insufficient fiber in your diet. Loose stools can be caused by many digestive and dietary diseases, resulting in bowel movement problems.

Frequency. There appears to be no consensus on what should the appropriate frequency of bowel movements be. Some experts believe that the number of meals a day should equal the number of bowel movements. Others recommend that a daily bowel movement is a sign of good bowel health. Some conventional doctors fail to agree, claiming that you should not worry if you do not have a bowel movement every day. However, most experts do note that infrequent bowel movements are often caused by a diet high in refined flour and sugar.

When you are able to have healthy bowel output, you can take this to be a sign that the foods you ate have been well digested, assimilated and waste is properly produced for discharge. There are many benefits to healthy digestion: reduced abdominal pain, higher energy levels, improved mental clarity, as well as all round wellness.

However, if you are experiencing bowel movement problems, then you need to look for ways to improve your digestive health. Get to the root or your problems by visiting your health care professional immediately.
